I cannot really fault anything about the hotel - it suited us down to the ground for our over night stay - wish we could have stayed longer. Had a very pleasant blether with the manager which was a major plus showing that he had time - during his busy schedule - to make a quest feel 'at home' and important.
Nothing comes to mind which really means that it was what we were lokking for for our over night stay.
Fantastic location and potential for being a classic hotel.
needs modernization inside, repair of grounds outside
View of the boat movements in the harbour. Its a sun trap. Log fire in excellent lounge
A thoroughly enjoyable stay, hotel and staff were superb.
All the staff and the owners went out of their way to make our stay memorable.
A beautiful stay in a wee bit of luxury for a birthday treat. The Deluxe bedroom was spotless, and the views stunning.
Loved the views over the bay and the staff is very kind and helpful. Hotel's got a lovely cosy atmosphere. Food is excellent.
Interior good do with a good refurbishment, but this will be undertaken in November 2011 as we were told.
The location is stunning and the proximity to Tobermorie is excellent. For a relaxing holiday in very special surroundings, both hotel and countryside, it is hard to beat.
When we arrived we were given a nice room with a reasonable view. When a problem later emerged with the plumbing we were upgraded to an extremely nice room with a fantastic view. The hotel is in a prominent position in Tobermory - on top of the hill overlooking the harbour. Parking was easy. It was a steep but quite short walk down to the harbour.
Excellent location for stay on the island. Fantastic views from room, bar and restaurant. Close to harbor, shops and pubs with walks right from door step.
Room decor needs renovation, mattress practically non-existent, uneven floor boards with carpet wearing through, bathroom fan vibrating adjoining wall, loose electrical sockets, wooden wall near window coming loose, tired and worn out in general. The price we paid was an outrage given the quality and comfort of the room (no 23) and should not have exceeded £70. We paid double this in June 2012.
Location on top of high ground overlooking the harbour and the Sound. Traditional feel. Traditional Scottish breakfast
Under floor water pump was very noisey which came on if you ran the tap. Went druing the night as well in neighbouring rooms. They got the bill wrong when checking out three times more than it should have been!. Lemon for my fish looked as if it had sqeezed several times before!
It was dog friendly, the staff were all polite and helpful. The room was clean and warm. The addition of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water and biscuits was excellent.
Great location, very helpful staff, comfortable room, good quality evening meal. Very individual old style hotel!
The owners are clearly upgrading the hotel and are very customer focused. The only complaint we had was the rather poor kitchen ventilation, which caused some food smells to emanate into other areas - a minor point but worth looking at!
Fabulous location, excellent service and welcome, great food.
